Privacy

Fragmingo stores the data needed to run the Discord GIF bot, authenticate the Chrome extension, measure optional anonymous usage, and enforce paid-plan access.

Data stored

• Discord user ID, username, guild ID, and channel ID connected to bot commands.
• For Chrome extension login: Discord user ID, hashed extension session and one-time authorization credentials, expiration time, last-used time, and revocation time. Raw session credentials are not stored in the database.
• Chrome extension text and selected text is processed locally. Animation frames and GIF files are rendered and encoded locally on the user's device; page URLs are not collected, GIF files are not uploaded, and Fragmingo does not collect raw browsing history, page titles, domains, referrers, or raw user-agent strings from the extension.
• If the user explicitly allows anonymous usage measurement, the extension sends allow-listed event categories such as editor open, coarse text-length bucket, template ID, preview/export result, Pro interest, and Discord login result. Entered or selected text is never included. A random local installation ID is HMAC-pseudonymized in memory by the server; only the pseudonymous installation key is stored.
• Text submitted to render a GIF, selected template ID, render status, and render timing.
• For video-to-GIF jobs: Discord attachment URL, video filename, content type, file size, source codec, duration, width, height, and generated GIF output size.
• When a user presses Save to server: the saved GIF file, alias, render ID, creator user ID, guild ID, channel ID, template ID, save time, and reuse count.
• Upgrade intent, checkout, and billing records created through /frag upgrade or /frag server-upgrade.
• Basic server logs used for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and service reliability.

How data is used

• To enforce Free/Pro daily render limits.
• To verify whether a signed-in Chrome extension user has an active Fragmingo Pro entitlement.
• To measure aggregate extension activation, reuse, reliability, and optional Pro interest after consent. Anonymous events are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
• To show recent renders back to the requesting Discord user.
• To let members of the same Discord server repost explicitly saved server GIFs with /frag use.
• To debug failures and improve templates.
• To prevent abuse, investigate errors, and keep the bot and website available.

Sharing and third-party services

Fragmingo does not sell personal data, use extension data for advertising, or let humans read extension text content. Data may be processed by service providers needed to operate the product, including Discord for bot interactions and Discord authentication, Stripe for paid plan payments, and the hosting infrastructure that runs the website, database, renderer, and logs.

Payment details are processed by Stripe. Fragmingo stores billing status, Stripe customer IDs, Stripe subscription IDs, and related checkout records, but does not store full credit card numbers.

Retention

Chrome extension one-time authorization codes expire after five minutes. Extension sessions expire after 30 days and expired or revoked credentials are removed during routine cleanup. Pseudonymous extension analytics events are kept only as long as needed to measure product adoption, reliability, and fraud prevention; aggregate reports may be kept longer. Source videos are downloaded temporarily for processing and deleted after the job completes. Generated GIF files are temporary and may be deleted automatically unless a server member explicitly saves them to the Server Library. Saved server GIFs are kept until deleted from the library, removal is requested, moderation requires removal, or the data is no longer needed. Render history, usage counters, and waitlist rows are kept while Fragmingo is running unless removal is requested or the data is no longer needed. Operational logs are kept only as long as needed for debugging, security, and reliability.

Extension choice and security

Anonymous usage sharing is off until the user chooses Allow inside the extension. Choosing Do not share does not disable Free GIF creation. The choice can be changed from the extension's usage-sharing settings. Transport uses HTTPS, event and metadata fields are allow-listed on both the client and server, and raw installation IDs are never persisted.

Discord authentication is optional for Free use and is required only to verify Fragmingo Pro. Stripe receives payment details only after the user chooses checkout. Fragmingo does not receive full card numbers.

Chrome Web Store policy

Fragmingo's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Chrome API data is used only to provide and improve the extension's single-purpose text-to-GIF functionality and is not transferred for advertising, credit, lending, or unrelated profiling.

Removal requests

To request deletion, email [email protected] with the subject Fragmingo privacy request, your Discord user ID, and what you want removed, such as render history, waitlist entry, or submitted text. We may ask for enough information to confirm the request relates to your Discord account or server.
